Dragon-Tiger Qigong is a wonderful form for developing your energy and cleansing the liver and the blood.

I’m excited to offer this Qigong, as it is a form whose benefits are not subtle:  you will feel like you have had a shot in the arm after each practice!

First a little about Qigong:  Qi = Vital Life Force Energy and/or Breath.  Gong= Cultivation or work or diligent practice.  Qigong is the diligent practice of exercises that increase your vitality.  There are tens of thousands of Qigong styles and forms.  Some Qigong is for martial arts, some for self-development, some for medical purposes etc.  All improve your state of being in some way.  Qigong began in China thousands of years ago, originating from shamanic practices.  Taoist and Buddhist monks codified many forms in the ancient monasteries across China.

Dragon-Tiger is a combination of two forms – Buddhist DRAGON and Taoist TIGER.  The movements start slow and become quite fast.  Breathing techniques richly oxygenate the blood.  Qi is actively moved throughout the body.  And, while the form is quite energizing, it is also simultaneously calming –  it is frequently used as a way to move into sitting meditation.  Stagnant Qi is cleared, the mind empties and one is ready to sit and be quiet!

If this sounds intriguing to you, I invite you to sign up.  There is so much more to this form that I can tell you about in class!
